Get
A Lock On Your Identity. |
I’m sure you have seen
the commercials of the guy saying that, that was his real Social Security number
on the side of the truck. He then
went on to talk about LifeLock, and their ID Theft protection service.
Well there is a reason
BizNet OnLine Magazine has not talked about LifeLock till now.
In the beginning LifeLock promised
complete protection from ID theft.
Let me repeat that,
Complete Protection… Let me tell
you, there is no such thing as complete protection!
You can get extreme protection, or incredible protection, but not
complete. Let me give you an
example. Do you think the Secret
Service provides complete protection to the president?
If your answer is yes, then explain to me if it is so complete, how have
presidents been shot?
I hope you see my point,
there is no such thing as complete protection.
You can make it very difficult. Even
almost imposable… But there is always a chance.
So, we simply have never
liked LifeLocks claim of complete protection.
So what has changed?
Well in March of 2010, the FTC and LifeLock settled a claim in reference
to that complete protection issue. You
can see it here:
www.ftc.gov/opa/2010/03/lifelock.shtm
Yes, LifeLock paid 11
Million to settle the matter. Now
that is the bad news. The good news
is LifeLock has actually gotten better then it was. Keep in mind nothing is fool-proof or can’t be beat, but
LifeLock has gotten better. You can
check out their service for yourself at:

money and take steps to protect you credit yourself, then check out these
